STAY FOCUSED WHEN WRITING YOUR STORY!

Whewwwwwwwwwwww! Let’s talk about FOCUS!

Focus is a simple word that can be super hard. The struggle is real. Sometimes I have to really ask myself, “Sis, do you have ADHD?” Tuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Writing is an exciting way to express your thoughts and your creativity. However, writing can also cause extra pressure that can lead to stress. Let's face it - stressed-out writers simply cannot create successful work! When you face too much pressure, it's also easy to become distracted or suffer from "writer's block".

There are a few proven ways to help you redirect your attention to your writing. First, create a schedule based on your writing needs. To do this, you can start by evaluating the space in your day you can dedicate to writing. Do you tend to be an early bird who is up with the sunrise? Take this time and claim it as your attentive writing time. If you can start writing, regardless of what you are saying, then words are sure to begin flowing naturally. It doesn't matter when you decide to write or what you elect to write about. The most important thing is sticking to a consistent writing schedule.

If you find that your schedule has changed or been interrupted in some way, whether it be due to a vacation or an illness, always be sure to return to that schedule right away. You will find that the quicker you can return to a sense of normalcy and consistency in your writing, the better off you will be.

Finally, remember that practice makes perfect! Writers tend to have big dreams about where the world will take them. It is important to remember that all great writers had to start somewhere - it is an art that needs time to flourish!

I keep telling y’all that success is not microwaveable. STAY. THE. COURSE.
