Ok now…let me give you the real!
Writing, just like any other career, takes time and practice to perfect. Investing in your writing career can lead to excellent results and increase longevity in your career path. However, investing in your writing career isn't limited to what you are willing to spend monetarily. This can also include what kinds of materials you are willing to read to increase your knowledge and your skills. Investing in your writing career can even mean ensuring you have the proper equipment to work with or the right desk to write on!
There are several conferences available for writers to attend. The best part is that many of them are even held online! While they may not necessarily be cheap, investing in your writing career may mean re-investing your funds into developing your craft. Attending these conferences can also help you stay in touch with the writing community and stay up to date with the newest trends.
A good writer will read just as much as they write. That's why reading is such an important investment of your time to make as a careered writer. Reading the works of others is like studying their trade, or comparing notes. You can learn a lot about your craft by studying another's.
Another extremely important investment to make as a writer is the equipment you are using. It will be difficult to produce even adequate work if you are writing on a computer that shuts down every time you try to save your work! Investing in yourself as a writer is not only important but a form of self-care that will allow your career to sky-rocket if you do it properly.
I’m thinking about hosting a ladies only writing retreat. You guys know I love traveling. I do some of my best writing on vacay.
Would you be interested in traveling with me and making magic with writing? Let me know!
